In Amish communities, summer doesn’t just bring warmer days—it brings peaches. Many families grow their own, and when they’re ready, the work begins. Women and girls gather to pick, peel, slice, and preserve. Some of those peaches are saved for winter, but the best are turned into pies while they’re still fresh. Peach pie is a common sight at summer weddings—something sweet to mark a new beginning.
