"Abundance tastes sweeter when shared." — Amish proverb
There’s something about strawberries that feels like permission to slow down. After a long winter, their sweetness signals that the hard part is ending and gentler days are ahead. In Amish gardens, strawberries are often one of the first crops to ripen, and their arrival is watched closely — especially by children who helped plant them and are eager to taste the reward of their patience.
Side note:
👉 In many Amish homes, strawberries are picked early in the morning while the dew is still on the leaves. Children often eat as many as make it to the kitchen, stained fingers and all, before any ever reach the table.
